Ingredients:
Rice (2 servings)
Napa cabbage kimchi (1 cup)
Pork (or other protein options like chicken, beef, shrimp) - 100g
Onion (1)
Green onions (2 stalks)
Cooking oil (2 tablespoons)
Kimchi juice (2 tablespoons)
Red pepper flakes (1 tablespoon)
Soy sauce (1 tablespoon)
Sugar (1 tablespoon, optional)
Toasted sesame oil (1 tablespoon)
Sesame seeds (1 tablespoon)
Roasted seaweed (for garnish, optional)

Cooking Steps:

  • 1.Prepare the Ingredients:
    Thinly slice the onion and green onions.
    Cut the pork (or chosen protein) into small pieces.
    Chop the kimchi into small chunks.
  • 2. Heat Oil in a Pan:
    Preheat a pan over medium heat and add cooking oil.
    Sauté the onion and green onions until they become translucent.
  • 3.Cook the Pork:
    Once the onion and green onions are translucent, add the pork and cook until it's no longer pink and well-cooked.
  • 4.Add Kimchi and Red Pepper Flakes:
    When the pork is cooked, add the chopped kimchi and red pepper flakes. Stir-fry until the kimchi is cooked and fragrant.
  • 5. Incorporate Rice and Kimchi Juice:
    Once the kimchi is cooked, add the rice and kimchi juice. Mix everything well and continue to stir-fry.
  • 6.Add Soy Sauce, Sugar (optional), and Sesame Oil:
    As the rice cooks and blends with the other ingredients, add soy sauce. You can also add sugar for a slightly sweet taste if desired. Finish by drizzling toasted sesame oil over the dish and stir.

7.Garnish and Serve:
Sprinkle sesame seeds and, if available, roasted seaweed on top for garnish.
Turn off the heat and transfer the Kimchi Fried Rice to a serving dish.
